BF: Where do you see yourself and Cormorant musically in the next 5 years?
AvN: "I’d like to take Cormorant as far as it will go, and I have no idea how far that is. I set up small goals for the band, we meet them, and then move on to the next goal. After two years of existence, we’ve already recorded two albums, shared the stage with some of my favorite metal bands of all time, and right now we’re sorting through record label contracts to release Metazoa. We haven’t signed anything yet, but it shouldn’t be long. So our immediate goal right now is just to release Metazoa. Eventually, I’d love to tour Europe, as I’ve heard nothing but good things about the continent’s hospitality toward metal groups. Long-term, it’s a dream of mine to be able to live off our music, without compromising the sound. It’s extremely rare for a metal band to reach that point, but it’s possible, given sound business decisions and the proper connections/promotion. I’d want for our songs to be recognized as great storytelling, both in the music and the words, and for a harmonious marriage of the two."
CORMORANT have also recently unveiled a brand-new logo in time for their upcoming triple-headlining gigs with SLOUGH FEG and GIANT SQUID. Streaming MP3’s and dates can be found here.
